L.G. Cunningham was born in Slater, Missouri, and was raised in various locations in Illinois.  He attended high school in Rushville, Illinois, and graduated from St. Louis College of Pharmacy.  After graduation, he was employed by Charles Pfizer, and then by the Coca-Cola Company for forty years before retiring in January 1991.  At the time of his retirement, hw was serving as Vice President for Crisis Management.  At other times during his career, he served as Vice President for Quality Control and as Director of Quality Control for Coca-Cola USA.  Sarah Bell Cunningham was born in York, Alabama.  She moved to Gilbertown and then back to York, where she graduated from Sumter High.  She attended Livingston State Teachers College, now the University of West Alabama.  She worked in York for F. N. Grant & Son, Loper Lumber, and the York Coca-Cola Bottling Company.  Sarah and L.G. were married on September 11, 1955, and for the first year of their marriage lived in York.  In 1956, L.G. was transferred to New Jersey, and the couple lived there for ten years.  In 1966, the Cunninghams transferred to the home office of the Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta, Georgia.  The Cunninghams have lived in Chamblee, Georgia, for thirty-eight years.  The have one son, John, and a daughter-in-law, Emily.
